Together with Taj Cape Town and South African Airways, The Fullerton Hotel’s Town Restaurant presents a spread of exotic South African cuisine from 21 to 27 April 2014. South Africa’s colourful cuisine is influenced by a wide variety of sources including British, Dutch, French, German, Malay, Indian and Arab cuisines. Guest Chefs Vivian Gary Solomon and Lloyd Mark De Stadler from Taj Cape Town, one of the city’s finest luxury hotels will showcase authentic South African delights as part of South Africa’s 20th Freedom Day celebration on 27 April 2014.

The unique bounty of South African flavours and authentic dishes will be on showcase at the buffet. From traditional breads Roosterkoek and Potbrood, Bobotie; the national dish of South Africa consisting of spiced minced meat baked with a custard topping, Seafood Potjie; a hearty stew cooked in a cast iron pot, Braised Beef with Port Sauce and Chicken and Bacon & Banana Kebabs with Spicy Marinade to Creamed Morogo (wild spinach).

You will also be able to savour delicious South African desserts such as Souskluitjies (Sweet Dumplings), Amarula Panna Cotta, Sultana Pudding and Coconut Tartlets alongside cheeses specially brought in from the country. Apart from the exceptional South African spread, Town Restaurant’s international selection of seafood on ice will also be available on the buffet line.

The week-long South African Food Festival Dinner Buffet from 21 to 27 April 2014, 6:30pm to 10:30pm, is priced at:

  • with International Delights (21 to 23 April, 27 April): $56++ per adult, $28++ per child
  • with Ocean Fresh Seafood (24 to 26 April): $69++ per adult, $34++ per child
  • with Seafood and BBQ Spread and free-flow of Singapore Sling & Draught
  • Beer for 2 hours (24 to 26 April): $89++ per adult, $44++ per child
