Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14, in case you didn’t know), dreaded by some, longed for by others, is just around the corner. Chefs in Singapore are cooking up romantic specials, pre-fixe menus set, and you have ample opportunity to indulge in an old favorite or discover a new one. So if you and your sweet heart are still thinking about dining out, here are eight places to take your special someone in Singapore this Valentine’s Day.

Stellar at 1-Altitude takes the amore (Italian for love) factor to greater heights on Valentine’s Day weekend. Diners can expect nothing less than Stellar’s hallmark exquisite cuisine for a memorable romantic San Valentino dinner experience. Specially crafted by Executive Chef Christopher Millar, the highlights of the menu include Sevruga Caviar with Sea Urchin, Fennel and Cucumber; Gamberi Prawn Carbonara with Parmesan Cream, Soft Poached Egg Yolk and Bacon Ash; and Roasted Turbot with White Truffle Polenta and Radicchio. Two luscious desserts created by Stellar’s star Pastry Chef Jasmin Chew end the dinner on an indulgently sweet note: Bouquet (Geneva apples, yoghurt custard, almond sable and roasted marcona almonds) and The Branch (Strawberries that pop and tropical tube).

The menu designed by Chef Jean Charles Dubois is set to impress you and your valentine. Start your meal with either the Pan-Seared Foie Gras, Puree of Jerusalem Artichoke, Truffle Vinaigrette or Hokkaido Sea Scallop Tartare with Yuzu Dressing Oyster Jus and Black Olive Powder. For main, choose between the Char-Grilled Half Maine Lobster with Baby French Potatoes, Roasted Pink Garlic and Thermidore Reduction or the French Pigeon Royale served with Cauliflower Smoothie Roasted Hazelnuts and Young Heirloom Carrots. End the night with a Warm Milk Chocolate Soft Centre with Strawberry Ice Cream or the Roasted Pineapple with Coconut Emulsion and Vanilla Ice Cream.

Caffe B’s Valentine’s Day Menu at the bar features a three-course menu with a wine pairing option, the menu includes an antipasto of A Hearty Feeling, stuffed Dory Fish rolled with cubed Prawns and Bell Pepper. Raise a roast with a hearty main course – Love at First Bite, conjuring the memoirs of young innocent love with the well marinated Beef Short Rib braised in Red Wine, served with roasted Vegetables in Thyme and Veal Jus. From custard kisses to crumbly black biscuits, present your beloved with Caffé B’s Jar of Hearts – a layered-fill dessert of White Chocolate and Yoghurt Mousse, topped with fruity Raspberry Coulis and wild berries for an elegant finale to a romantic meal. To further sweeten this Valentine’s Day celebrations, try Caffé B’s specially concocted cocktail, Clementine ($16), in line with the theme for this occasion. Clementine features fresh honey, cranberry juice, triple sec, grenaldine syrup and plum wine, with its crimson colour and red petal garnish symbollic of Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love. Each sip guaranteed to take you to the realms of Olympus.

Kick start your romantic evening with some Freshly Shucked Oysters with Ginger Flower Sambal, Pickled Cucmber & Coriander Shoots and the Smoked Chilli Crab Salad. For the mains, indulge in an exquisite plate of Grass, Grain & Wagyu Beef, Irish grass fed (21 day dry aged, 200 day grain fed) & 9+ MBS Mayura Station (500-day grain fed), served with wasabi mash, heirloom carrot, pickled ginger and sweet soya jus. Conclude the dinner on a lovely note with a sharing dessert of Chocolate & Flowers.

Swoon your sweetheart with Me@OUE’s special four-course or six-course dinner against the captivating backdrop of Marina Bay this Valentine’s Day. Me@OUE will be serving up their exclusive ‘His and Her’ menu on both Saturday and Sunday night. For those who prefer the Saturday date-night will have a choice of two seating options and for the first time, the restaurant will be taking dinner reservations on the Sunday night – just for Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, the eve of Valentine’s Day, couples can look forward to Me@OUE’s elegant four-course menu. Sparking the romance is the restaurant’s refreshing interpretation of an aphrodisiac dish – Oyster, served with caviar, cucumber tartar, mandarin segment and yuzu vinaigrette, followed by a mouthwatering succulent Crab Claw. For Him, the restaurant prepares pan-seared Duck Breast, while the ladies can enjoy the tender and delicious Miso Cod. To end things off on a sweet note, indulge in the Chocolate Heart Temptation, 66% dark chocolate mousse topped with exotic mango curd, salted caramel coulis and served with vanilla ice cream. Linger and enjoy the six-course Valentine’s Day menu during this second seating on the eve of Valentine’s Day from 8pm onwards and on Valentine’s Day from 6pm. While diners enjoy the same delightful Oyster starter, Crab Claw and Chocolate Heart Temptation dessert on the four-course menu, three more delectable creations are introduced to satisfy one’s gastronomical desires – Sashimi Tasting, Pan-Seared Scallop (For Her), Pan-Seared Foie Gras (For Him), Lobster Thermidor (For Her) and Wagyu (For Him).

Make memories up high at Salt grill & Sky bar, and indulge in an exclusive six-course set dinner to a spectacular view of the Singapore cityscape. Begin the evening with a dish of Oyster paired with Horseradish and Lime Granita, chosen to cleanse the palate. For starters, enjoy rich pickings from the sea, with the Crab and Watermelon Gazpacho. Delicate meats provide a heartier section to the meal, including the Rangers Valley sirloin topped with a homemade Béarnaise sauce. Finally, sweeten the date with “Ispahan” – a white chocolate and lychee cremuex, topped with raspberry and rose gels.
