Red House Seafood celebrates 38th Anniversary with new dishes and set menus
Red House, one of Singapore’s oldest seafood restaurants, has launched new dishes and set dining menus at its flagship Prinsep Street outlet to commemorate its 38th Anniversary.
The new dishes include Chilled Spicy Whelks (S$35), lightly tossed in sweet and spicy Thai dressing and topped with slivers of mango and onions. Megrim fish ($100/kg), best enjoyed steamed with garlic, is an uncommon flat fish that is textually silky and delicate in taste. Red House recommends crustaceans delights like the chunky Scottish Brown Crab in White Pepper (S$58/kg) that is fragrant and spicy with every bite of the firm flaky flesh. Highly sought too is the thick set Scottish Blue Lobster (S$148/kg) for its sweet meat and can be enjoyed in many ways like even coated with sweet mayonnaise. Get a carb fix with Oyster ‘Yuan Yang’ Hor Fun ($20), deep-fried swirls of hor fun atop a bed of Scottish oysters and fragrant wok fried noodles in delicious gravy.
Red House Seafood also serves up two special celebratory 7-course set dinners – The Modern and Signatures 38th Anniversary ($388++ for 6 people, available till 30 June 2014). The set dinner also includes a bottle of premium champagne (Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut) or white wine (Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé 2010) or two jugs of Tiger Beer perfect for celebrating any special occasion. Enjoy the five news dishes with the Red House’s ‘Modern’ Anniversary Set Dinner. The Red House’s ‘Signatures’ Anniversary Set Dinner will include the hand-dived Scottish Garlic Steamed Bamboo Clams, Spicy Seafood Combination and Sri Lankan Chilli Crab. A house specialty, the Sri Lankan Chilli Crab ($58/kg) arrives in a thick spicy-sweet “Red House chilli stew’. The Spicy Seafood Combination is a Thai-inspired creation of fresh cuttlefish, prawns, scallops and Garoupa fish slices in an enticing kaffir-laced curry sauce.
To attract the lunch crowd, Red House has a new five-course set lunch at $38++ for two persons. Starts with a Dim Sum Basket that include siew mai, mixed mushroom dumpling, scallop and chives dumpling, char siew pau. Followed by the signature Creamy Custard Prawns, Oyster ‘Yuan Yang Hor Fun, and fried Daily Greens. Lastly , the homemade Durian Mochi to round off an enjoyable lunch.
