District 10 Bar & Restaurant flagship outlet at UE Square has recently undergone a complete facelift to give its diners a brand new dining experience. Boasting a sleeker contemporary design, a more spacious indoor and outdoor space, bar, new private dining room and a creative menu, the new gastrobar concept offers a little something for everyone.

The kitchen, helmed by executive chef Luca Pezzera, who founded the acclaimed Bonta Italian Restaurant & Bar, now offers a more gourmet menu for the indoor dining area. On top of re-introducing some best-selling items of Bonta, the revamped menu also offers new dishes and a more extensive wine list with boutique labels.

Start your meal with the delicious complimentary homemade bread flavoured with shredded tomatoes, feta cheese and a nice anchovies with olive oil dip. For starter, Pan-Fried Goose Liver with Wild Berries Sauce and Balsamic Syrup ($20) is a must-try. The wild berries sauce gave the tasty goose liver a zesty flavour. If you prefer something light but still whet your appetite, the Green Asparagus, Fried Egg Sunny Side Up, Sage Butter ($18) is an unusual but tasty option.

For mains, meat lovers will enjoy the Crispy Goose Leg Confit with Roasted Garlic and Soft Potato Mousse ($26). Bonta favourites like the tempting Homemade Foie Gras Ravioli in Light Parmesan Sauce and Scamorza Cheese ($34) is a must-try for cheese lovers and the famous Homemade Angel Hair Pasta with Lobster, Peperoncino, Basil and Fresh Tomatoes ($38). The menu also offers affordable steak options like 180g Black Angus Tenderloin ($28) or Signature Black Angus Beef Striploin with Fried Eggs and Black Truffle ($36).

If you prefer a more casual setting with light bar bites, hang out at the gastrobar’s al fresco area. The Al Fresco menu features signature bar bites such as the Duo of Mini Black Angus Cheddar Cheese Burger ($12), Homemade Duck Spring Rolls with Sweet Chilli Dressing ($12), Fried Calamari with Wasabi Mayonnaise ($12), Weisswurst Sausages with Buttered Mashed Potato and Onion Gravy ($18). New intriguing signature cocktails to try include Kopi Singapura ($18), a heady mix of whiskey, frangelico hazelnut liqueur, kahlua and cream. It tastes quite like Kopi-O and is served in a Kopi glass, which makes an interesting coffee alternative and good drink to go with dessert. The D10 Punch ($34, 3-4pax) is a fun “group” drink to share with friends. It’s a delicious addictive blend of Moscato wine, Crème de cassis, dark rum, apples, strawberries, mixed berries and ginger ale. Wine lovers will be happy to know that District 10 now has more than 80 different wines including some prestigious labels from Europe such as Antinori and Tenuta.
