Latte E Miele brings savoury waffle sandwiches to Singapore
In a crowded field of fast-casual sandwich players, Artisan gelateria Latte E Miele has found a clever way to stand out: by using waffles instead of bread. Known for its gorgeous gelato offerings, made fresh every morning without preservatives and colouring, this gelateria on Turf Club Road takes a perfectly browned Belgian waffle fresh off the griddle, complete with buttery softness, and stuff it with delicious deli delights such as bacon, chicken and tuna.
The Beasty Bacon ($10.90) is a winning combination of smoky streaky turkey bacon, eggs done sunny side up and cheddar cheese, sandwiched in between warm Belgian waffles. The perfect breakfast, mid-afternoon hunger antidote and hangover cure.
The Chunky Chicken ($10.90) delivers a kick to the palate in the form of chicken soaked in a Provence marinade, piquant honey Dijon dressing, lettuce and cheddar cheese. With the filling balancing the richness of the pillowy Belgian waffles, it works both as a healthy, protein-packed power meal or a delicious snack to grab and go.
Totally Tuna ($8.50) is served simply, consisting of Belgian waffles paired with an elegant, creamy tuna mayonnaise and lettuce. The crispness of the waffle shells cuts through the creaminess so the flavours are blended beautifully. Ideal if you’re in the mood for something a little less dense and overpowering, and goes well with a soothing beverage.
