Timbre @ Gillman launches new menu
Timbre, synonymous with the local Singapore music scene has added a branch at artsy Gillman barracks. Surrounded by lush greenery, Timbre @Gillman has a nice laid back urban chic to it. To add to this, Timbre also managed to secure the services of an ex Le St Julien chef to help bring its menu to new heights. Timbre grub has always been famous for its buffalo wings and pizza, great bar bites food that go nicely with drinks and the lovely acoustic local music that Timbre helps to showcase to Singapore. Now patrons can enjoy more and different cuisine at Timbre @ Gillman as Timbre start their culinary revolution.
Great new starters to try is the refreshingly tasty Yellow Fin Tuna Tataki Salad ($14) in sesame ginger yuzu dressing and the delicious Clam Veloute ($7) with fresh clams, diced celery finished with whipped cream. Another interesting addition is the Taro Rosti ($10) of shredded mini yam rosti fried till crispy as well more familiar Timbre Crispy Calamari ($14) and Truffle Fries ($10).
Must have new Tapas dish is the Open Faced Foie Gras burger ($22 – see main photo above), a generous serving of foie gras on toasted foccacia bread with aioli spread to enjoy with the meat patty and caramelised pineapples. Other new tapas dishes are the Braised Beef Cheek ($18) and Charcuterie Plate ($22) of Prosciutto ham, chorizo sausage slices, smoked duck breast which is a dish uncommon for a bar restaurant .
Not sure what to get? Try the platters for variety and they are good for sharing. The three new platters are: Flavours from the Sea ($42) with grilled flavourful squid, succulent scallops and an unusual chilli crab sauce mussels dip that you can enjoy with interestingly shaped fried mini mantou. The Timbre Platter ($42) comes with juicy garlic prawns, delightful crispy pork belly, beef cheek, crab mayo bruchetta and a min bowl of nachos with beef salsa. Escargot lovers, the Tasting Pateau ($58) comes with baked escargot, charcuterie, beef cheek and salmon roulade.
For a more filling meal, Timbre @ Gillman also has new mains such as the Crispy Skin Barramundi Aux Provence ($27), Grilled Succulent Pork Loin ($32), 6 Hours Slow braised Beef Cheek ($32), Pan Roasted Lemon & Rosemary scented Spatchcock ($33), which is grilled off the bones, to feed your hungry appetite. If you like red meats, go for the new Almond & Sage crusted Lamb Rump ($33) of succulent lean slices of lamb nicely without bone and fatty bits.
For the sweet tooth, you don’t want to miss the new dessert additions at Timbre @ Gillman. For a sinful indulgence, go for Timbre’s version of the warm chocolate cake, Chocolate Fondant ($10). If you want something lighter and less guilty treat, have the soya cheesecake ($10) and pandan creme brulée ($10), which are both tempting delights with a nice Asian flavour.
Timbre at Gillman also shakes up new cocktail concoctions. Pair your meal with one of the special cocktails. The must-tries include Bombay Gin, Sakura (Absolut Vodka, Cointreau, Lychees), Late Night (Havana Blanco Rum, Bols Amaretto, Monin Hibiscus Syrup) or Candyfied (Butterscotch Schnapps, Monin Crème Bulee Syrup,Milk). These cocktails are priced at $16 per glass.
Timbre @ Gillman is currently having a happy hour promotion where you get free chicken wings with every purchase of a bottle of wine ($55). The bar restaurant will also have a Saturday Social BBQ on every 1st Saturday of the month, starting from 5 Oct 2013, 4pm till late.
