Delectable Peranakan High Tea at INDOCAFE
Indulge in a tantalising Peranakan High Tea between 3pm to 5:30pm daily exclusively at the Arts & Cultural Centre of INDOCAFE – the white house, a charming Straits-Peranakan establishment nestled amidst the lush greenery of Scotts Road.
Housed in a majestic colonial building, the Arts & Cultural Centre stands steps away from the restaurant, which offers diners the tempting option of a sumptuous Nonya meal. Tuck into an assortment of uniquely Peranakan-inspired teatime treats, selecting from a menu that features specially curated, savoury light bites alongside freshly baked scones and pastries. Savour these hearty delights within the tranquil setting of the Arts & Cultural Centre, which showcases a plush interior decorated with exquisite Peranakan artefacts charmingly reminiscent of the Peranakan past.
The afternoon high tea set offered at the Arts & Cultural Centre includes four savoury bites, two nonya kuehs and a refillable portion of four sweet pastries and two scones. Savoury highlights include Mini Steamed Penang Otah with Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallops, Kurobuta Buah Keluak on Crispy Man Tou, Mini Grilled Seafood Nasi Lemak and Wagyu Beef Cheek Rendang on Crunchy Rice Cracker, while the pastry and scone selection comprises heady options ranging from Chendol Pudding, Chocolate Cake and Assorted Macarons to Parmesan Cheese Scones and Coconut Scones.
Choose from three tea options promising varying levels of indulgence. For simpler fare, opt for the Peranakan High Tea set, which entitles diners to the main spread alongside their choice of coffee or tea. Coffee enthusiasts may wish to sip a steaming cup of rare 100% Wild Kopi Luwak, one of the world’s rarest coffees, alongside their light bites as part of the Kopi Luwak High Tea set. Those who prefer their tipple can instead have the Sparkling High Tea set, which pairs a glass of chilled and deliciously sweet Moscato d’Asti perfectly with the selection of pastries.
There is much to offer at the Arts & Cultural Centre – a casual café, coffee appreciation boutique, retail shop and live performance stage for dance and musical performances. While satisfying your palettes, you may also feast their eyes on a traditional cultural performance performed between 3:30pm to 4pm daily. Coffee aficionados can also look forward to coffee appreciation workshops led by the café’s baristas, as well as purchasing freshly ground coffee and other Peranakan-inspired coffee pot sets and merchandises from the quaint retail shop.
The Peranakan High Tea set is priced at S$34++ per person, while the Kopi Luwak High Tea set and Sparkling High Tea set are priced at S$64++ per person and S$49++ per person respectively.
