New restaurants are constantly opening their doors in Singapore so it’s often hard to keep track of things. Here’s a quick roundup of the fresh choices that are opening their doors at VivoCity soon.

Taking up a section on the ground floor of the shopping mall, the Singapore outlet will offer over 100 dishes from the signature nasi lemak to chicken curry and chendol, 3-coloured rice with beef rending and assam prawns and more.

Celebrity chefs seem to have a love for Singapore and we have seen a number of them setting foot in this little island. The latest to open a restaurant here is none other than British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.
To be opened in July 2013, Jamie’s Italian is famed for its delicious and affordable food and its friendly and welcoming service. Former Jamie’s Italian UK Head of Academy for Senior Chefs Gary Clarke will oversee Jamie Oliver’s first restaurant in Asia.
This family friendly restaurant will have pasta made on site daily and will house an antipasti station, an open kitchen and an alfresco area. In keeping with Jamie’s other Italian restaurants, the design of the Singapore outlet is expected to be unique to its location and feature quirky twists. As for the food, you can look forward to some really simple, delicious, authentic Italian food, packed with flavour and using the best produce available.
