If you haven’t heard about “Gangnam Style” yet, you probably had been living under a rock for the last month. This is a smash hit made popular by K-pop singer Park Jae-Sang. Ever since his “Gangnam Style” video on YouTube (over 89,000,000 views) went viral, people around the world just can’t get enough of the catchy beats and his horse-riding dance steps.
This September, go “Gangnam Style” at Sarang, a K-Pop inspired, casual restaurant located on the 7th floor of Orchard Central, for some authentic Korean food and maybe some K-Pop star gazing if you are lucky. Sarang has launched special cocktails and dining promotions to celebrate the popularity of “Gangnam Style”.
From now until 30 September, enjoy delightful fresh fruit soju cocktails at S$10++ each. Soju cocktails are a popular and accessible beverage that are enjoyed by many Koreans and can be found all over South Korea, especially in the Gangnam district. There are three flavours: kiwi, watermelon and lemon for you to choose from.
Sarang has also created three new dishes (not found in Sarang’s regular menu) such as Kkori Gomtang (Oxtail Soup) – light herbal oxtail soup with tender sliced beef (S$19.80++), Kimchi Jjim (Braised Kimchi) – braised kimchi served with pork belly (S$15.80++) and Jok Pyeon (Pork Terrine) – cold pork terrine served with Chef’s homemade sauce (S$11.80++).
This Korean restaurant is also famous for its mini BBQs, bubbling pots of spicy stew packed with discs of sausages, galbi (pork), kimchi and tofu. They have hosted many visiting K-Pop stars including DGNA, Z:EA, Infinite and 2AM in the past years. Who knows you might bump into Park Jae-Sang when you dine there.
