Don’t know what to get for your dad this Father’s Day? Instead of searching high and low for that perfect gift, why not make it up to the man of your life with a sumptuous meal on this special day. Bring your dad to Bedrock Bar & Grill this Father’s Day because he gets to dine for free with at least one paying adult or two kids.  The complimentary two-course set lunch (worth $32++) includes a choice of starters or desserts, and a choice of main courses.  Let dad indulge in hearty dishes such as apple-wood grilled chicken, grilled ribeye steak, and crispy skin seabass. If dad has a huge appetite, you can top up an addition $6 to include a starter to make it a three-course meal.

When: Saturday, 16 June 2012; Lunch: Noon to 2:30pm (Bedrock is closed on Sundays).

Price: From $26++ to $32++ for two-courses: choice of started or dessert with main course or from $32++ to $38++ for three-courses: include starter, main course and dessert.

The catch: Dad dines for free with at least one paying adult or two kids.

Set amid a lush garden, Graze at Rochester Park is the ideal spot for a quiet evening out with Dad. Choose from a heart BBQ platter of lamb chop, rib eye, house cured bacon, bratwurst sausage, tiger prawns, hummus, mash or fries, salad and Jack Daniel’s BBQ sauce ($23++) to share to their a la carte dishes.  To celebrate the special man in your life, executive chef Chris Donnellan and head chef Tim Squires have created some special Father’s Day dishes such as roast wild field mushrooms with wilted spinach and gorgonzola ($21++), slow roasted lamb ‘stockmans’ pie mint pea puree ($35++) and Guinness sundae which include vanilla bean ice cream, Guinness caramel, crushed peanut praline ($15++). You can also go for their customized set menu at $45++ for two-courses or $60++ for three-courses which include some of the Father’s Day special dishes.

When: Sunday, 17 June 2012; runch: 9:30am to 3pm, Lunch: Noon to 4pm, Dinner: 6:30pm to 11pm.

Price: $45++ for two-courses or $60++ for three-courses.

The catch: Free flow of beer and wine for two hours at only $10++ with purchase of any Father’s Day special. If you purchase a glass of Pitchfork Chardonnay or Pitchfork Cab Merlot wine at $8++, you also stand a chance to win 12 bottles of Australian wine.

Treat your dad like a king and bring him to Peony Jade for a royal-style Asian feast this Father’s Day. Go for the ‘Longevity’ menu and savour luxurious modern Cantonese dishes created by executive chef Ryan Shiu.  The feast includes pan-seared goose liver ‘Longevity’ bun, chilled lobster mayo salad paired with Norwegian salmon sashimi, the nourishing poached fresh prawns with herbs, and the must-have, braised ‘Longevity’ rice vermicelli with shredded duck meat and preserved vegetable.

When: 15 to 17 June 2012; Lunch: 11am to 2:30pm (Fri), 10am to 3pm (Sat & Sun), Dinner: 6pm to 11pm (Fri – Sun).

Price: From $128 per person.

If your dad loves his cheese, you have to bring him to the Manhattan FISH MARKET for their cheese-inspired dishes from thei2 ‘All-things Cheesy’ menu.  The Flaming Cheeese Platter ($37.90) of sumptuous bites which includes the grilled`chicken of liberty comprising tender chicken breasts marinated in spices and flamed with flaming cheese sauce, along with the succulent and crispy fried calamari, the all-time favourite fried country mushroom, fish nuggets, chips, garlic herb rice and hot veggies served with a big bowl of mouth-watering and yummy cheddar cheese sauce will definitely satisfy the cheesy desires of the most ardent fans of cheese.  Other cheesy treats include Cheeese Nachos, crunchy tortilla chips served with cheese ($6.90), Cheeese Fries ($3.90) and Tuscan Tiramisu made with cream cheese t($5.50).

If your dad’s favourite colour is blue and he’s in the mood for some drinks this Father’s Day, take him to District 10 on this special day. Pairing wine or beer with dinner is so yesterday. Try pairing your food with cocktails instead. The chefs at District 10 Bar & Restaurant have given some of the classic dishes a wicked spin of all-things-blue. Try their penne with blue cheese sauce and cherry tomatoes ($22) with their hazelnut-bodied cocktail, Nutty Sea ($16). You will be surprised by the sensation created by the strong yet familiar flavour of the blue cheese aided by a hint of vodka, a touch of sprite with an unforgettable scent of Frangelico.

When: 16 & 17 June 2012; Brunch: 11am to 3pm (Sat) and 11am to 6pm (Sun), Dinner: 6pm to midnight (Sat) and 6pm to 11pm (Sun).

Price: From $16 for a glass cocktail and from $22 for their pasta.
