The middle of the afternoon is often the longest part of the day for some people. The work day begins to drag on, hunger creeps in and dinner still seems very far away. A snack can be just the thing that you need to perk up and get through the rest of the day. If you are working near Changi City Point or happen to be browsing at this new shopping mall in the East, you are in for some savoury treats.

Perkies, a new street food concept shop lets you enjoy hassle-free savoury fresh bites with an Asian twist on-the-go. The must-tries include Perkies’ very own version of corn dog with a Japanese touch – the corn puppies ($5.20). These finger-sized Japanese-styled sausages made of succulent chicken meat, coated in a sweet cornmeal crust, and served on Chic Kushi (Japanese skewers) were delicious and packed with flavour. If you like KFC’s popcorn chicken, you will definitely fall in love with their cheeky chicks ($4.60), tender juicy bite sizes premium chicken thigh meat marinated in their secret blend of nine Thai herbs and spices. Be warned, this is an extremely addictive snack. To quench your thirst, grab a cup of mojito ice tea ($3.60), a delightful and refreshing non-alcoholic drink for a hot and humid day.

The best thing about Perkies’ snacks is that you don’t have to worry about counting calories or crazy high cholesterol levels, because Perkies only uses non-hydrogenated sunflower oil, which is free of Transfats and cholesterol, and also contains vitamins A, D and E. To cater to different taste preferences, Perkies also provides a variety of dips to complement their freshly fried snacks.
