Singapore’s very first rooftop bar Loof is back with a spanking new look after a nine-month makeover.

Spotting a new old school charm, this popular watering hole with office workers atop Odeon Towers is sure to pack in the crowd. Enjoy carefully crafted Southeast Asian inspired cocktails and bar food with a local twist. Then take a trip down memory lane and purchase little gems of nostalgia at The Mama Shop.

What’s new: Gone are the rattan chairs and private sunken booths. The refreshed bar now spots signature shingle patterned tiles adorning the walls, trellis and backdrop to the bar which brings a quirky, eclectic and playful aesthetic. The place also looks more spacious than before. The newest addition to Loof is The Mama Shop which sells knick-knacks and treats of yesteryear such as five stones, chips and kitschy souvenir notebooks and mugs, just like your good old neighbourhood mama shop.

The boozes: The cocktail menu feature Singaporean elements and lots of local flavour. The new drinks include Ho Chi Mint ($17) – a mix of pear juice, mint, cucumber and vodka, Java Ginger Crush ($17) – a triple whammy of ginger beer, fresh ginger and Canton ginger liquer garnished with fragrant grapefruit, Penang Padi ($17) – a kick of chilli padi, lime juice, vanilla vodka and the smallest splash of soy sauce, Bandung Bloom ($17) made with kalamansi juice, vodka, champagne and rose syrup and the Singapore Sour ($17) – a mix of sour plum, kalamansi juice and vodka.

Happy hours at the Loof starts from 5pm to 8pm, every Monday to Friday.

The bar grubs: The loof’s food menu also gets a revamped with an added local twist. Try their Chilli Crab Dip ($16) served with fried mantou, Ahi Kueh Pie Tee ($16), tuna tartare with jicama and pine nuts served in a dainty kueh pie tee cup or their own version of Ramly Burger ($18), juicy beef patty wrapped in a thin omelet and topped with Loof’s secret sauce.Other finger-licking good items include Wings Lah ($16), chicken wings served with sambal chilli and ikan bilis; Loof Flies ($9), house French fries accompanied with cucumber wasabi sauce, curry ketchup and spicy mustard; Tiger Toast ($9) with minced tiger prawns, sesame, scallions and chilli jam; and tender Lamb Rack Lollipops ($28) with Sarawak peppercorn sauce.
